the recession

it's pretty simple...stop relying on the government to fix your problems.

buck up and take responsibility for your money.

my rant is over. there is nothing more i can i do.

Why is it that reaching towards goals that can never happen is so enticing? I think it's because deep in our hearts, we want to believe that the impossible is possible, the unfathomable can, in fact, be a reality. And it's these goals that are bigger than ourselves that possess the ability to get us outside of ourselves, really living, really experiencing, really tasting this experience called life.

So often, we feel the push-back in our pursuits. Because no one ever said it would be easy to achieve the impossible. So we fear. We fear failure and we fear the prospect of just how much we may have to give up to reach that goal. And so we settle into the monotony of survival: wake up, go to work, eat, go to bed. Minimal interaction, superficial thought, meaningless existence.

And the irony of it all is that whether you choose to nominally experience life or experience life to the point that you lose everything, the end is the same for both. The only difference on this earth, whether you believe in an afterlife or not, is that in one existence, the only impact you left was your nominal carbon footprint. The other existence, though, changes lives, thus changing history.

Lord, make me radical in my understanding of you, and balanced as to how I live that out.

Do you love?

The answer does not show its face in our thoughts, actions, or words during the times of intense passion or ecstasy.

Neither does it show up in our interaction with our loved ones amidst the mundane.

Whatever you feel, whether love or not, will be forced to name itself in one sole situation. This situation reveals the truth behind all passion, all zeal, all commitment, and all promises.

The truth, as to whether you love or not, shows itself when the people we once believed we cherished act contrary to the expectations we impose on them.

It is easy to love those who behave as we wish, but I have met few who can love those who deviate from the standard we create for them.

"Never Alone"~Barlow Girl (yes I like barlow girl and if you have a problem with that we can fight about it)

I waited for you today
But you didn't show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?

I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I"m never alone

And though I cannot see You
And I can't explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life

We cannot separate
'Cause You're part of me
And though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen

We cannot separate
You're part of me
And though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen
